Why Does Marriage Fail?
People want to have “I” marriages
& selfishness rips marriages apart.
Couples attend Weekend to Remember because they’re ready
to invest in their marriage and intentionally move towards oneness.
We help you understand God’s blueprint for marriage
so you can create a legacy of greatness.
Attendees say their relationships improved on average
from a 4/10 to an 8/10 after one weekend.

The mission of the Longview Retreat is to strengthen and rebuild
the relationships within marriages and families by emphasizing . . .
. . . the importance of allowing Jesus Christ to be the center
of each individual life and relationship.
The Retreat operates on the premise
that the complete restoration of individuals' and couples' lives
only comes when each person is in right relationship with God.

Great Marriages Don’t Just Happen.
Marriage is a lifelong adventure of growing together through every age and stage of life.
The happiest couples are those who commit to learning skills that help them weather difficult seasons and deal confidently with relationship challenges.
Remember how captivating it was when you first fell in love with your spouse? Every moment was special. As real life takes over, that memory can grow less vivid, and you might not feel like the center of their world as often. That’s where the Weekend to Remember® marriage retreat from FamilyLife comes in.
The two-and-a-half day romantic weekend getaway is a time to be together as a couple to invest in and strengthen the foundation of your marriage, no matter how firm or fragile it is. By getting away from the distractions of life, you can fortify your most important relationship and work toward building wonderful memories together, for decades to come.
The Weekend to Remember marriage retreat is not a large group counseling session or small group discussion. You won’t be asked to share intimate details of your relationship with anyone.
You will listen to engaging talks from marriage experts , then take private time alone with your spouse to work on the concepts you studied. When you leave, you will have an assortment of powerful, Christ-centered communication tools to use for years to come.

Longview Retreat is a non-profit, Christian marriage and family marriage ministry located on a large working farm in northeastern North Carolina. The founders of the Retreat, Joe and Jane Brown, have been married for over 35 years and want to share with others how God has created the marriage relationship to be one full of love and respect between husband and wife. Because they understand the stresses and challenges in marriages and families, they have envisioned Longview Retreat to offer guests a quiet place for Bible study, prayer, mentoring, restoration, recreation, and times of relaxation together as a couple and a family.
